Understanding e-Commerce and m-Commerce
Mobile technology is advancing rapidly and is playing a large role in bringing about the revolution that helps increase online retail sales each year. The production and sales of mobile devices like Smartphones is way up. m-Commerce is booming around the world as more and more consumers embrace the technology. While the rise in use is skyrocketing the technology still needs to keep meeting the demands of the consumer. If the consumer becomes frustrated with the technology he will abandon it for something more reliable. So far technology has managed to keep the consumers comfortable and interested in using the technology, especially in Asian countries.
e-Commerce and m-Commerce has allowed retailers and other businesses to conduct their transactions faster, cheaper and better in many different markets. The consumers are empowered because they can gain access any time they want. They have also benefit from a much wider range of products and services from around the world or around the corner. m-Commerce has huge growth prospects around the globe and that’s a good thing for online stores. When you want to order flowers for your sweetheart, buy a new pair of shoes or buy Mitsubishi Parts or Hyundai Parts to keep your vehicle running smoothly, it all can be done on a mobile device.
Thirty three per cent of online transactions are done through a mobile device. That will rise to much higher percentages as the technology is embraced across the globe more each day. The Asian and Western European markets will lead the way along with the US when it comes to m-Commerce. If someone had told you ten years ago that your cell phone would be what it is today you probably would have thought they were crazy. Today however, you can use that device for shopping, paying bills, surfing the internet, playing games and chatting on one the many social networks. What’s more impressive is that we haven’t seen anything yet compared to what is coming down the line in the next few years.
Once again however, technology is walking a tightrope because the consumer demands certain things. Technology can certainly provide what the consumer needs but it has to be done right with very few “glitches” or the consumer may lose interest. m-Commerce is here to stay and the worldwide acceptance is making the online retail sales numbers climb rapidly. There isn’t a retail merchant that doesn’t want to be able to reach a larger audience and they are realizing that e-Commerce and m-Commerce are the best ways to do it with less cost and much more benefit than they thought.
So when you pick up your Smartphone and surf the net think about the people around the globe that are doing the same thing. They may be making a payment or they may be shopping for a gift. Whatever they are doing it is part of a new economy that is putting up very impressive numbers and will continue to do so for years to come.
